01 — ATOMIC STRUCTURE & THE PERIODIC TABLE
Atoms, elements, compounds and mixtures; atomic models; electronic structure; the development of the periodic table; Groups 0, 1 and 7; and trends in chemical properties.
02 — BONDING, STRUCTURE & PROPERTIES
Ionic, covalent and metallic bonding; states of matter and state changes; structure and properties of substances; nanoparticles; and how bonding explains material properties.
03 — QUANTITATIVE CHEMISTRY
Relative formula mass, conservation of mass, moles, reacting masses, concentration, limiting reactants and percentage yield — with calculation practice built throughout.
04/05 — CHEMICAL CHANGES & ENERGY CHANGES
Reactivity of metals, extraction, oxidation and reduction, acids and salts, electrolysis and the key required practicals students need to understand
Exothermic and endothermic reactions, reaction profiles, activation energy and calculating energy changes from bond energies.
